Can the IC symptoms vary for men and women?

I joined this community because I suspect I have IC, I’m still going though the process of diagnosis with my general/family physician. I’m experiencing UTI symptoms, but when I do a urine test it comes back negative. Researching over the internet I come to find/discover IC, but it should be noted that for men it’s rarer to be diagnosed of IC compared to women. Could anyone tell me symptoms that men diagnosed with IC would have?

I have urgency a lot of the time, anytime I eat a trigger food I have a killer flare and bathroom visits a lot. Followed the IC diet and it helped for the most part, plus meds of course.

I was just diagnosed. Feels like i have to pee alot, but not a ton comes out, burns really bad before and after. Most of the burn is all along the bottom of my...umm...guy part. Lol. They did a cystoctomy and my bladder only holds 300ml...red inlamed spots all over. No signs of infection either.

Interstitial cystitis or bladder pain syndrome is a chronic bladder condition that presents with the subjective feeling of pain or pressure in the bladder. Lower urinary tract symptoms accompany the pain in the absence of urinary tract infection. The exact cause of this pain syndrome is unknown and treatment is individualized according to symptomatology.
